Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is a left-handed jumps racecourse set in glorious countryside and overlooked by the Welsh hills. Bangor-on-Dee has a unique character, by the fact that this is the only Racecourse in the country that doesn´t have a Grandstand The viewing from the main grass viewing bank provides a natural amphitheatre to view the horse racing action.
History of Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse
Jump racing has been taking place at Bangor on Dee Racecourse since 1859 and is steeped in history. All the greatest jump jockeys have ridden here and the present crop of top jockeys all regularly turn up at each meeting. this creates the ideal racecourse for horse racing tipsters to make excellent selections. In 2002, Bangor-on-Dee joined up with Chester Racecourse, where you can also enjoy some fantastic and glamorous flat racing during the summer months.

How to find Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse
By road:
From the South - M6 to M54 then A41 to Whitchurch and A525 to Bangor-on-Dee. From the North - M56 from Manchester, then M53 to Chester and A483 to Wrexham.
By rail:
Wrexham is four miles away, and Chester and Shrewsbury are close by. A free bus service runs from Wrexham station an hour and a half before the first race and returns at the end of the day.
