About Aintree Racecourse
Aintree is the home of the grand national steeplchase, This race is one of the most infamous racese in the wold. The racecourse has 16 steeplchase fences including the Chair, Becher's Brook and the Canal Turn. These fenses are so famouse that most professional jockeys are trilled by the names. The fences are all made from spruce which is different to the British national hunt raceing fences. At Aintree there are 4 other very famous races, The Topham Chase, The Fox Hunters Chase and the Grand Sefton Chase and Becher handicap chase. Meetings are held April to Novemeber.

Ainstree's History
Aintree is a very well know and historical racecourse. Aintree is probably best know as the home of the Grand National. The Origins of the grand national can be traced back to the offical race at Aintree which was first organised and arranged by the owners of Liverpools Waterloo Hoter, Mr William Lynn. Mr William Lynn leased the land from Lord Sefton and built the racecourse and build the first grandstand which then staged the first Flat horse race fixture on July 1829.

In 1973 Aintree Racecourse was sold by the Tophams to a property developer Bill Davies who gave a commitent to keep the Grand National going. In 1975 Ladbrokes the bookmakers made a bid foe the course and Davies relaes the course to them to be fully managed.

In 1983 public donations kelp the jockey club pay Davies the price of purchase the race club. In 1991 The seagram subsiduary, Martell took over the sponsorship of the grand national. The sponsorship was taken over by John Smiths and to this day we know the Grand National to be hosted over a 3 day period in April every year.  

Aintree Special Events
The main event is the Grand National which is run over 4 1/2 miles and depending upon the weather in April creates the most exciting conditions for one of the most exciting horse races in the World creating ideal conditions for the horse racing tipsters to create the best lay racing tips to forecast and allow opportunity to make money. The Grand National is one of the most demanding steeplechases in the world. The race is run by as many as 40 runners and the most famous of all is Red Rum who won the race 3 times on the 1970's.

Aintree as 2 types of racecouurse the Hurdle course which is a left handed flat track with national galloping stiff fences and the Chase course which is a left handed flat track with national galloping stiff fences.

How to find Aintree Racecourse
Aintree Racecourse is located on the A59, just one mile from the M57 and M58, which link the M62 and M6. Follow the A59 to Liverpool and the AA signs as you approach the racecourse for routes to the car parks.
By Rail:
The easiest way to reach Aintree is by train. The nearest mainline station to Aintree is Liverpool Lime Street. Liverpool Central Station is just a short walk from Lime Street, where you can catch a train to Aintree. Aintree Station is directly opposite the racecourse, where regular trains run every 71/2 minutes on racedays.The easiest way to reach Aintree is by train.
